Demon Possession Night

The beginning of this month started with Devil's Possessions Night and now we end with Devil Possession Night. I love bookending months!

Allow me to quote myself:

People, I watched a lot of devil possession movies lately. Beyond The Door, Demon Witch Child, Exorcist fucking II: The holy living hell is James Earl Jones dressed as a bug? Heretic

Fortunately the trailer confirms it and he's specifically a locust:

Abby, AKA Blaxorcist, was removed from theaters after Warner Brothers sued them for being too similar to The Exorcist.

And it's still being kept down by the man. It's only received a few sketchy DVD releases that went out of print almost immediately. This happening to a movie by William Girdler, director of the Leslie Nielsen-wrestles-a-bear movie Day of the Animals:

He died at the age of 30 after making 9(!) movies. By my calculations he would have been on his 75th movie this year if he hadn't died in a helicopter accident. Say, future BMN theme: Directors That Died in Helicopter Accidents. Which would also include Michael Findlay. The last helicopter theme went great!

Truth is Abby isn't nearly as rip-offy as, say, Lady Terminator

NSFW for languange.

Remember when that happened in Terminator? I love Snake.

or Starcrash.

The real test will be: Does someone's head spin around?

Which both Beyond The Door (0:16):

and Demon Witch Child include:

Footage Not Available.

The Oscars are this weekend and out of my top five movies of the year we've not seen The Social Network and Piranha.

You'll notice the title up there says Piranha 3D but the home version is just Piranha. Although upon request I will throw fish at you. We just watched the Joe Dante original seven weeks ago so you should still be able to compare.

Here's what happened last week:
