Best of the Beginning Bad Movie Night

I'm not surprised these two movies that we're revisiting for Bad Movie Night were requested. It's the dead of winter and death tends to be on your mind this time of year. It's not called the alive of winter.

Death Race 2000 was the 13th movie we ever watched at BMN. It was also the first night no one came. I thought it was the beginning of the end

but it would be over a year until it happened again.

Death Race 2000 stars David Carradine, who died the week of our 100th movie, The Room. So we paid tribute the week after with Q: The Winged Serpent and also a third, bonus movie: Death Race 2000. Third time's the charm! Since watching it those times a remake has come out, Death Race, with Crank's Jason Statham.

The original is directed by Paul Bartel, who's one of our frequent-flyers.

Repeats don't count, however, so he holds at 9. It also stars Mary Woronov

and Cobra's Sylvester Stallone.

Dead Alive, or Braindead if you insist, was our 7th BMN movie. On the first intentionally themed night, Peter Jackson Night. It's one of three BMN movies I can think of that includes death by lawnmower, Night of the Creeps and Frankenhooker being the others. Both of those movies are in the first 254 BMN movies we're picking these repeats from. Maybe we could have Killer Lawnmower Night. Maybe after this month we should watch the killer lawnmower movie Blades.

Maybe we have no interest in those things happening. These are the mysteries of life. Anyway, it's one of the bloodiest movies of all time and an ear falls into someone's custard. AND THEN THEY EAT IT.

Here's what happened two weeks ago:
